اجابة لسؤالك اخي الفاضلان السليكا جل الموجودة في المحولات تعتبر اداة لامتصاص الرطوبة عند تنفس المحول - اي عند تغير مستوي الزيت ,والهواء وتمدده بسبب الحرارة ثم انكماشه ولذلك تسمى silica gel breather وهي لا توجد في المحولات الزيتية المغلقة sealed type transformers

this device permits the ingress and egress of air with the temprture varitations, it incorporates air drying chemicals, i.e. Calcium Chloride or Silica gel
how it work :
when the volume of oil changes with the temprture varitations .
the incoming air passes through the filter and then through the silica gel, where dehydration takes place. the moisture absorpation and change in colour can be observed through an inspection window.
load varitations and local humidity conditions will determine how often the crystals will require regenration
